Susana Balbo appoints Matthew Clark Bibendum as UK partner

Globally recognised Argentinian wine producer Susana Balbo will now be distributed by Matthew Clark Bibendum (MCB), the UK’s largest on-trade wine specialist and drinks distributor.

The full Susana Balbo portfolio, including the Crios, Signature and Signature Limited Editions, BenMarco and Nosotros ranges, is now available to the UK on-trade through Matthew Clark Bibendum (MCB), and to the UK off-trade and independent merchants through Bibendum Off Trade and Walker & Wodehouse.

Founded in 1999 by Argentina’s first female winemaker, Susana Balbo, the award-winning, family-run winery is located in the foothills of the Andes mountain range in Mendoza and has been exporting to the UK for over 26 years. The new partnership with MCB strengthens the winery’s ambitions to further elevate its position in the UK market, with a renewed focus on premiumisation and cross-channel growth.

Susana Balbo and the winery team of more than 100 people produce high-quality wines using modern winemaking techniques while upholding a commitment to sustainable practices and conducting business with intention and traceability. As a winemaker, Susana is known for her meticulous and innovative work with blends, particularly with white varieties like Torrontés, producing terroir-driven wines with a refined, modern style.

In May 2026, Matthew Clark Bibendum, formerly two separate propositions, celebrated becoming a single, integrated route‑to‑market business, offering a full market view and access to the widest customer opportunity in the UK on‑trade.

The move brought together Bibendum’s industry-leading wine expertise and premium portfolio with the scale, service and value for which Matthew Clark was renowned, creating a significantly enhanced and agile offering shaped to meet the needs of modern hospitality.
